Troney Valley Escapes, Devon
Set in a tranquil and unspoilt Devon Valley, Great Heale Farm was the perfect spot for 3 of Bonds huge, luxury Safari Tents and it was a joy to work with Henry Charteris and his family. He went above and beyond to design a solution that would be not only high luxury but also offer his guests a relaxed experience immersed in the beautiful Devon hills.
We chatted with Henry and asked him to recount his experience … ‘When looking to add luxury glamping accommodation to our farm in Great Heale we were very keen to look for a British manufacturer. It was a pleasure working with the whole team at Bond and great to support a British family-owned business like ours. Can the safari tents stay in place year round?

A resounding YES is the answer!
In fact we do not have any clients who take their safari tents down at all. For many years now we have worked closely with British Structural Engineers to develop our range. Every element has been designed in order to result in the most robust tents on the market.
Our frames are quite unique to us and comprise of structural-grade, galvanised box-section steel … we couldn’t make them stronger in effect!

We have full structural Engineers Reports for each tent with wind-load ratings to support. Every element of the tent has some effect on the load bearing and overall integrity of the strength.
If we are working with a client on a new design or much larger structure we regularly consult with our engineers to verify our design, and if a client is unsure about the required wind-loading for their area we can ask our engineers to supply a postcode specific search to determine historical data! Its all very technical but it’s a necessary peace of mind that we are pleased to give our clients. Give us a call with any questions.
