The T-System consists of a series of bays comprising half-octagonal frames joined by tensioned fabric panels running through keder channels. The whole structure is held in place by applying tension along its length and down through angled end panels to the ground. It is currently available in sizes ranging from 12m span x 8m, increasing in 6m bays to any desired length (for example 12m x 20m, 12m x 26m).
A New Generation of Tent Technology
The T-System combines many of the advantages of
sectional frame and traditional marquees in a new way.
Like the sectional frame marquee, it is a modular clear
span structure.
Like the traditional marquee it uses tensioned fabric, giving a smooth, taut appearance, as an integral part of the design.
Yet the T-System uses much less metalwork than a
sectional frame marquee. It has longer bay lengths - thus
fewer frames are needed for a given space - and (apart
from the high-tech external eave purlin) no purlins or
bracing.
Designed for simplicity and minimum number
of components the T-System has only two aluminium
section members - a leg and a rafter. These have no cleats
or other fittings so are less easy to damage and very neat
to stack. Its semi-octagonal shape means that section
lengths are greatly reduced, making for ease of
transportation. The longest member on a 12m span
marquee is only 4,285mm - less than a 9m span rafter on
a conventional sectional frame marquee - meaning it can
be easily transported in most mid-sized vans.
The unique system of longitudinal wiring and angled end
frames produces a tensioned structure without guy ropes
or central poles, and virtually the entire footprint of the
marquee is useable space. Added to this, its curve-cut
panels and innovative profile make it more akin to a
modern tensile structure than a standard marquee. |
